Appeal for Help

This is an email we have received:

Hi, please can anyone help for a couple of week till I can fit him in here. Here are the photos of Bobby. The lady has alergies and her doctor told her to get rid of the dog. She had already called the CERECO and they are coming to pick him up this afternoon at 16:00.

So if anyone you know may want him, they will have to contact ,CERCO at 966 682 096 and ask for Bobby from Fortuna ... pick-up date in his home would be today the 16th, so they know who they are talking about. He is timid , but he is super calm and is used to living in a small apt. and going out for walks.

Her 9 year old grandson took him out for walks, so he is really good with young children. He is 6 months old and has all but his last vaccination. As you can see in the photos, he is really pretty. I don´t think he will be getting that much bigger.

His hair is fluffy and soft, she has always bathed and combed him well.

God bless Violet

URGENT APPEAL FOR MONTEMAR

We are desperate for anyone who will take Montemar either permanently or Foster because he is under sentence of death.

This lovely dog was sheltering in the garden of an empty house on an urbanisation and was obviously starving. He is less than 1 year old and was infested with ticks and fleas, with very prominent ribs and haunches. The collar he had on was cutting into his neck.

One of his eyes has been badly damaged and we think he is blind on that side, although the other eye is fine. He was taken to a local vet and he has been bathed, de-flead, de-ticked and wormed. He has not been microchipped. The vet also said that there is no infection in his bad eye and he is otherwise a healthy dog. He has a lovely nature and is very anxious for someone to love and take care of him. He walks well on the lead and travels well in the car. He seems to be house-trained as he always ´goes´ outside, he is also obedient to simple commands. MORE.........

RESULT OF APPEAL

Saved from death by seven days here he is in his new home in Switzerland

Urgent Appeal

I am just sending this to anyone that might be in a position to help !

21/10/11

I have just had a call from my vet he has told me there is a laboratory closing down in Barcalona and they are going to destroy all the dogs in 2 weeks if they cannot find homes or foster homes for them, there are 72 Beagles - all males, 12 of them are 1&1/2 years old and the other 60 dogs are 4 years old and they have never had a life outside of the laboratory he wants to help the dogs and can have some at his veterinary clinic for maybe 1 to 2 weeks, if its possible he would like to help the young ones first, all the dogs are passported, micro chipped and Rabis vaccinated. If you know anyone that can help then please forward on this message.

Updated info 22/10/11 . I went down to speak with my vet about the 72 beagles that need help, they are all un-neutered males - the 12 young dogs have not had any tests done on them and the older ones have, but none of the dogs will not be carrying anything that is contagious to animals or humans, the dogs have been used for human medical research, but at this moment in time all the dogs are healthy and they do not foresee any adverse long term effects, the dogs have been kept singly in cages but maybe 10 or so in a room.

The microchips will be transfered into the name of the vet in Barcalona who is trying to help the dogs and transport within Spain ( not sure about Majorca ) is already paid for, we just have to supply addresses where the dogs are to be delivered to..... but preferably and where possible in small groups of 5 to 6 dogs at a time. Hope this helps, if you need any other info please feel free to get back to me at this email address or on my mobile 677648853

I have been in contact (via Marie Stacey - Little pod foundation) with an association down in the Malaga area, they are hoping to take around 40 dogs to be spread around various Sanctuarys in that area and 10 of the dogs are going directly to Germany with a possibility of more places, so hopefully it does not sound quite so daunting a task to save the rest of these poor souls, if some other associations could just take the odd one then they would soon all be safe .

Thanks Eve

Monte and Chico were adopted by an elderly couple five years ago, they are such well behaved gentle dogs. They are so loved by their owners.

Suddenly the gentleman lost his vision and became very ill. Last week he was airlifted back to the UK. His wife has to follow this week.

She is devastated at having to leave her dogs here.

We are trying to find a kind person who would adopt or foster both dogs together. Monte is 5 1/2 years old and Chico is 6 years old.

They are fully vaccinated etc.

Both are now in boarding kennels and are missing their owners and their cuddles

These lovely puppies were rescued by a man living in Quesada, he has been feeding them in a pipe by the riverside for 3 months or more.

They were born in the pipe and finally their abandoned mother left them.

This man managed to catch 5 out of the 6 puppies, one unfortunately is still running around in Rojales by the car park, close to the river

He has managed to re home one of the puppies already.

He is now looking for homes for these four lovely dogs, if you can help please ring Linda on 965725794

On Monday 28th February, our Long Haired German Shepherd (LOLA) went missing. We live in Aspe, so we think she is somewhere in the mountainous area of Aspe. She is a gorgeous 3 year old bitch, she is Micro chipped (Micro Chip No: 981098102152428, she has a very distinctive PINK collar with diamantes, she is not aggresive and has a lovely temperament.

We have contacted our Local Policia and vets, nobody has handed her in, if you hear of anybody that has found a young German Shepherd - PLEASE CALL us on 966191745 or 629502214.

I have attached a photo for your attention, we are desperate to get her back home with us!!

Please see attached photos of the dogs our local farmer seems to have 'rescued'... he doesn't get them checked for microchips so if they belong to anyone they're unlikely to ever be re-united with their owners.

Also recently seen is a small Greyhound type dog.

Poor Sophie

img img img img

Click pictures for larger view

Sophie is an English Bull Terrier, her breed is on the dangerous dogs list, so anyone taking her would have to get a licence.

She has the most lovely nature, even though she has been left to suffer.

She was found by the riverside, in pain and looking for food, her skin was red raw, and she had hardly any fur.

The vet has examined her and is certain she will make a full recovery.

Sophie was bathed at the vets, happy to allow the young lady to dry her with the hairdryer. She was then taken to the kennels for recuperation and her treatment began on Monday.

It will be a few weeks before she will be ready to be re homed. We are looking for an owner who has some experience of the breed, and who will look after her and love her for the rest of her life.

If you are interested and would like to meet Sophie, please contact Linda on 965725794

Special Information

Becky who lost and found her Jack Russell, Harry - below gave us this information.

"I just wanted to let you know, the farm where we found Harry have a couple more dogs. The Spanish owner seems to pick them up thinking they are strays and locks them in a pen with food & water - a good deed in one way but on the other hand they don't get their microchips checked.... The cage they are in is in the distance from the road but from what i can see there is a very nice looking Golden retriever and small White/brown dog - possibly a Jack....not your average abandoned type dogs! i don't know if you can put the word out to see if anyone has lost any dogs of this description....

Please give me a chance in life

Frankie was found alone and frightened, he was just four weeks old. Fortunately the lady who found him got in touch with Linda from Animal Aid and then Frankie was taken to the kennels.

He was so small he fitted on one hand. Frankie was too young to be away from his mother, but at the time we had a male Pointer called Alfie, who adopted Frankie and looked after him in the early weeks. Alfie was then re homed and Frankie had to fend for himself. He has never had a proper home and never known love until now.

A lady visiting Spain has fostered him for five weeks, she has house trained him and taught him to walk on a lead. He loves to cuddle up on the sofa in the evening with this lovely lady and be loved. The only thing is he has just four weeks left and then he has to go back to the kennels unless we can find a permanent home or a foster home for him.

He is not the prettiest dog in the world, but he is beautiful on the inside. He has longish legs but only a little body, he has a lovely nature. He is quite lively and loves to be walked. He has been castrated and had all his injections.

Can anyone please help to give this dog a chance, he will be your friend for life. Ring Linda on 965725794

Our Work Goes On

But we still have dogs on our appeals page. It would be nice if we could reduce the amount of dogs on the appeals page by rehoming them. So anyone out there who is able to offer a home to one of them please please contact us. Alternatively, any donations to their upkeep would be gratefully accepted.

Emergency Contact: 965725794

In the event of an animal in severe distress through injury or abandonment please contact us.

Feeding an injured animal will help it survive but it will not relieve its pain and suffering.  It must have veterinary care.

Please think twice before phoning the police about an animal you have found. The Police send the dogs to the local dog pounds where the conditions are horrific. The dogs are often left without water or food for days whilst they are queued for execution in a not very nice way. Ill animals are not given veterinary treatment. The dogs are not advertised for rehoming, nor any other steps taken.' If you want more information on this go to www.brighteyes.dk.

Foster Homes Urgenty Needed

We always need Foster Homes where we can place rescued dogs whilst we search for a permanent new home for them.
